Beginning and Intermediate Mandarin Chinese
Chinese: Communicating in the Cultureis currently an ongoing program which is suitable for grade 9-12 and college students. This program is designed to permit learners with no previous experience in the language to learn Chinese in cultural contexts. As a learner-friendly program, it includes performance textbooks, audio programs, and an interactive multimedia DVD program, with numerous audio and video clips, illustrations, and vocabulary games and exercises. Students will learn to perform roles in conversations and to practice the spoken expressions and cultural moves that were introduced. So far, Galal Walker has published four volumes of performance textbooks (Units 0 to 5, 60 lessons), and an interactive multimedia DVD of units 0-5.
