Teacher Training

Body

Student studies one on one with a Professor.
NEALRC conducts many collaborative programs to enhance teacher’s training and to build infrastructure in the field of teaching East Asian languages. Chinese Class Resources (or CCR) provides teachers with training material for professional development purposes. CCR not only provides a platform for the sharing of materials, but it also functions as a medium for cultivating collaborative teaching and research opportunities among Chinese language teachers.

NEALRC also runs Summer Programs: East Asian Concentration which introduces pedagogical and second language acquisition research, combined with practical content and immediate implementation for teachers while at the same time offering ten-week-long, intensive language immersion summer courses for both students and teachers.

In order to meet the needs of teacher training, The Ohio State University’s National East Asian Languages Resource Center will also produce videos focusing on performance-based classroom instruction in Japanese, and task-based classroom instruction in Chinese.
